A long warranty is most useful when it is easy to understand. OMODA’s August 2026 update does two important things: it brings more components into full-term cover and gives existing UK owners the same enhanced protection as new customers.
What has changed?
Several items that commonly sit outside the longest part of a manufacturer warranty are now covered for the full seven years or 100,000 miles. These include major electrical, braking, fuel-system, cooling and infotainment components.
| Area | Enhanced UK cover | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Main vehicle warranty | 7 years / 100,000 miles | The headline cover, subject to the warranty terms. |
| Selected components | Full 7 years / 100,000 miles | Includes items such as the infotainment system, air-conditioning compressor, alternator, starter motor, brake calipers, injectors and key pumps. |
| Bushes, rubber parts and ball joints | 7 years / 60,000 miles | Useful extra clarity for components affected by road use and wear. |
Do current OMODA owners benefit?
Yes. OMODA states that the enhancement is retrospective for every UK car sold since the brand launched. It is applied automatically, so there is no registration form or separate upgrade to buy.
Normal conditions still matter. Keep servicing up to date, retain accurate records and ask the service team if you are unsure whether a repair is covered. A warranty covers faults within its terms; it is not the same thing as routine servicing, consumables, accidental damage or normal wear.
Why the detail matters
Seven years is a strong ownership period, but the component list determines how valuable a warranty feels in practice. Extending full-term cover to items such as the touchscreen, wheel bearings, window regulators and catalytic converter gives drivers a clearer picture of what support continues beyond the first few years.
The warranty also stays with the vehicle while it remains eligible. That can make the cover relevant to a future buyer as well as the first owner, although the service history and full terms should always be checked.
Three sensible owner checks
- Follow the service schedule and keep invoices or digital records.
- Report a warning light or developing fault promptly rather than waiting.
- Ask for the latest warranty wording if your question relates to a specific part.
